The horrible flu bug has invaded my body

I woke up feeling a little queasy yesterday. I really didn't think anything of it and went about my day. I got to work and the queasy feeling continued to get worse. I finally went home and proceeded to feel miserable not get much sleep all night. I enjoyed some one on one time with the porcelain thrown. Not fun! Feeling much better today though! Pushing fluids and eating crackers.
Hopefully I will be able to do a few posts that dont include vomit soon!

The Horrible Flu bug of 2011

The boys and I do not get sick very often. Levi has his bouts of Croup but overall we are pretty healthy. A few months ago Ryan left town for a week on a work trip. The day after he left Levi woke up vomiting (all over my bed). Awesome! He was better in a day or so and then Luke started vomiting, luckily not on my bed. Everyone was better by the time he got back and it wasn't too terrible.
Last Sunday Luke started vomiting just in time for Ryan to leave town the next morning. I really thought it was just another 24 hour stomach bug. I was very wrong. He was sick for 3 days, however, the last day was not bad at all. Wednesday morning was looking good until we went to Hy-vee and Levi vomited on the floor within 2 minutes of walking in the store. Levi proceeded to be sick for 4 days. He was unable to keep any food, water, or gatorade down the whole time. On friday I decided to take him to urgent care because I was concerned about dehydration. My concern was warranted because he was very dehydrated. They attempted to start an IV to run fluids two times with no luck. We decided to go with Zofran and small sips of water. This worked great and he started doing better. Saturday and Sunday he felt pretty yucky but was able to keep fluids down. Monday he finally woke up feeling good and full of energy. Ryan felt terrible on Saturday evening and woke up Sunday vomiting. He slept the majority of yesterday and is feeling a little better today.
I am thankful that Liam and I have avoided getting the worst of the bug. The last thing I need is to be out of commission for a few days. I hope the flu bug leaves and doesn't return

California

We took a little vacation to California the beginning of May. Ryan and I were both raised there and we have not been back in over 3 1/2 years. We had a family reunion on Ryan's side of the family and family visiting on my side. It was a lot of fun. The boys were able to meet family they had never met and we were able to catch up with friends.
I chose not to take our big nice camera on the trip because it was one more thing I would have to carry through the airport and I knew my mom had a camera once we got there. I took my little point and shoot though. I forgot my charger and on the first day there my battery died. I am waiting for my mom to send me pictures so I can post them.
The boys had no clue what mountains were and were actually afraid of them when we first got there. It made me so sad that they aren't familiar with a mountain. We took the boys hiking, through a cave, and visiting all around. I can't wait to do more hiking and exploring with them.

Beautiful Spring Saturday

The weather has been amazing around here lately.
Saturday was a high of 95. We decided to head out for our first trip to the zoo of the year. It was a perfect day for the zoo.
Except it was a Saturday. Ticket prices are discounted due to "Africa" being closed. Therefore, there were a ton of people there. Overall we had a blast. The boys were so excited to see the animals and ride the Merry Go Round. We are looking forward to many more zoo trips and for Africa to re-open.
Now for some pictures of our day.

Here is Baby L hanging out in his stroller

I miss blogging

I miss sharing our daily lives with family and friends.
I miss journaling the crazy things my boys do and say.
I miss sharing recipes or asking for advice.
I am hoping to be able to start back for real. I know i've said it numerous times but now that we are on a good schedule with the boys and our lives are not "as crazy" I am hoping I can commit again.
The boys are constantly saying and doing the craziest things. I want to have a place to journal what they say and do so we can laugh about it at a later time.
So this is it. I'm going to be consistent!

Life is crazy

Life with 3 boys under 3 and a part-time job is crazy. There is always something to be done around the house, a sippy cup to fill, a snack to make, diaper to change, or laundry to do. All this leaves very little time during the day to blog. I truly do miss it. I miss journaling about our daily lives and the fun things the boys are doing. I need to be better at setting aside 10 minutes a day to do this.
We are looking forward to Christmas baking, crafts, and Christmas itself, of course. The boys love looking at Christmas lights when we are out and about at night. I'm looking for large light displays that I can take the boys to. This year is so much fun because they are excited about all things Christmas. We are looking forward to putting up and decorating our tree. However, I am not looking forward to keeping them away from the tree. I'm sure they will do okay with it though.
